What does Vision
Carrier provide?
Vision Carrier is the digital live video transmission bearer
facility provider islandwide to be used mainly in Occasional
TV signal transmission.
What can Vision Carrier do?
Transmit and/or receive Audio-Visual Programmes from remote
locations on Live or Delayed Telecast modes.
How many channels
can vision carrier provide?
Two (02) from a single location on uni-directional basis,
or on (01) from a single location with bi-directional transmission
capabilities. A total of five video channels can be handled
simultaneously from multiple locations.
How does vision
carrier achieve reliability?
Input switching arrangements with dual path protection system
provides full system availability in case of failure in the
network.
What is the set-up
time?
The centralised PC controlled SLT backbone network has reduced
the set-up time to a few minutes.
What is the video-audio
formats?
Standard analogue and Digital formats are available.
Who can use vision
carrier?
Local and international TV broadcast companies and TV reporters,
video post production companies, video advertising agencies,
programme material approving authorities, primary distribution
companies, etc. can enjoy this facility.
Who will provide
outside broadcast facilities?
Outside broadcast facilities including links at remote sites
from and to the point where the live telecast originates or
terminates to be provided by the user. If the programme is
of Delayed Dispatch mode, the user should provide the camcorder
to the nearest SLT station. (ENG rooms of SLT in Anuradhapura,
Kandy, Galle, Badulla, Ratnapura and Hambantota.)
Who is responsible
for the material contents?
It is the client's responsibility to provide required approval
from relevant authorities or provide evidence that such approval
is not required.
