Mr. Attanayake is a highly accomplished business leader with over 25 years of distinguished experience in Sri Lanka's telecommunications industry. Since beginning his career in IT and ISP Operations, he has established an outstanding track record across Consumer Business, Regional Operations, and the SME and Micro Business segments. Throughout his career, he has successfully spearheaded large-scale commercial, operational, and digital transformation initiatives, consistently delivering sustainable business growth and operational excellence.

Mr. Attanayake joined Sri Lanka Telecom PLC as an Engineer and has steadily progressed through a series of leadership roles, including Regional Manager, Deputy General Manager, and currently General Manager – Regional Business (Metro). In his current capacity, he leads one of the organization's most strategically significant business regions, driving revenue growth, strengthening customer relationships, and enhancing the overall customer experience.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and a Master of Science in Digital Transformation from London Metropolitan University. His strong academic credentials, combined with his extensive industry experience, provide a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic business acumen, and digital transformation leadership.

Mr. Attanayake is a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL), the Engineering Council of Sri Lanka (ECSL), and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), United Kingdom. He is also a Member of the Institute of Directors, Sri Lanka.
