The seminar on Breakthrough Thinking sponsored by Sri Lanka Telecom, the nation’s premier telecommunications provider, concluded with a positive response from over 400 participants including private and public sector.

The seminar was aimed at a cross section of participants from the private and public sector including SLT employees interested in learning the new thinking paradigm proposed for this rapidly changing world with a concept composed of seven basic mental assumptions which is considered completely different to conventional thinking.

Internationally acclaimed presenter and best selling author, Prof Shozo Hibino, Ph.D., Chukyo University who is the brainchild behind this new theory of creativity explained the concepts of the Seven Principles of Breakthrough Thinking. He discussed about areas of Hybrid Thinking Engine, Learning from the Future, Strategic Thinking, Customer Delight and Breakthrough Culture under the topic of “ Why not bypass your competitors” at the program.

Prof Hibino said that the “uniqueness" of problems is downplayed by adaptive management. He explained that the challenge is to recognize uniqueness and champion it, yet to be able to recognize patterns that allow us to make educated guesses about the behavior of systems under examination from learning acquired by studying similar systems elsewhere. A presentation was also given by Hajime Hibino, MPL, son of Prof Hibino who is the Director of the Sobi Research Institute and President of the Global Headquarters for Breakthrough Thinking in Japan.
